The Connecting track and video were finished in late March 2021. A bit later in the spring Magicalila conjured up a beguiling remix, and thus began the idea for an album instead of a standard single.

The most "dance music" Josta track so far, Connecting explores isolation, memory, and longing in a playful musical context replete with shifting key centers, polyrhythmic grooves, and soaring guitar courtesy of Mark Hamilton (recorded during Zoom calls as shown in the video).

Remixers were provided with stems and given complete freedom to deconstruct and reconstruct the track as they pleased. We love the variety of approaches and sounds in this collection and hope you do too! Please visit the artist pages below for more excellent adventurous music.
